INTRODUCING LA JARA ROSÉ SPECIAL CUVÉE. I was recommended this by @parkandbridge {my new favourite wine shop in Acton} as a great alternative to Pink Champagne at a fraction of the price at only £11.95.
If I had tasted it blind I would be very confused. It has a beautiful bright yet delicate pale colour, a very gentle but constant foam. A delicate scent of fresh strawberries and pomegranates, which carries through into the palate. It’s fresh and fruity with a dry pithy finish.
Technically it’s not allowed to be called Prosecco because it’s pink. A Prosecco is not allowed to contain any red grapes and therefore you can never call a pink Prosecco, prosecco! But it follows all the other rules. It’s made in the heart of the Prosecco region in Veneto using the traditional Martinotti – Charmat method of secondary fermentation in a stainless steel tank. 90% Glera and 10% Raboso.
It goes down ridiculously easily so thank goodness it’s only 10% alc!
Such a perfect summer companion. Now how to get some out in SA…
