Platter’s by Diners Club South African Wine Guide and Wine Village Hermanus will be presenting a 5-Star wine tasting at The Cellars-Hohenort in Cape Town on Thursday 28 October 2021 from 17:30 to 22:00. Focusing on the finest of South African winemaking, the event presents a rare opportunity to experience several curated tastings from the 2021 Platter’s 5-star wine guide. The guest speaker is Master of Wine Cathy van Zyl, the associate editor of the Platter’s Wine Guide.
In the line-up for the evening will be three flights each of Chardonnay, White Blends, and Bordeaux-style Reds. The winemaker/owner of each wine will have the opportunity to present their wine and answer follow-on questions from the audience. They will include Duncan Savage (Savage Wines), John Seccombe (Thorne & Daughters), Chris Keet (Keet Wines), Rudi Schultz (Thelema Mountain Vineyards), and Jacques du Plessis (Oak Valley Estate).
After the tasting, canapés prepared by Executive Chef Tronette Dippenaar and her team may be enjoyed with 2021 Platter’s 5-star wines, rounding off a tasting event that is set to be a highlight on Cape Town’s wine calendar.
